I see there is another nail in the coffin for the railways 60s image with the coming of a loco that wasn't even built until the mid 70s. A Cass 56 loco and it could be staying a while after the diesel gala,I suppose it will be a HST set next?.Thomas

I agree.
I always believed a 'preserved railway' should cater for predominantly steam and perhaps the 'change-over' period when both steam and diesels were running. To show stock that emerged when diesels were well established does not fit the bill to me.
But this is just my own opinion.
Maybe too idealistic I suppose.. and early diesels are obviously easier to 'come-by' than older steam locos.
