I see that now the runing season has finished there is once again no progress on the signal front. Nothing being done on it in the shed, no hole being dug to put it in, the old signal still stopping the siding being finished. There seems plenty of work being done at Froghall but nothing at the main station, Cheddleton, Why??? I know money is tight but almost everthing seems to be ready,so whats the problem after all it's now been 2 years since it was started, surely it should be finished by now or is it destined to be like a lot of other work never finished. I don't believe it, progress at last!!! Platform 2 has been fenced off, I should think ready for the installation of the signal. The bank had been cleared of trees several weeks ago do'es anyone know if there is any progress on the signal itself and any date for the start of the work. Thomas

By the heck in'it grand, the progress on the signal looks and good perhaps it will be in before the season starts.the landslip could be next then maybe the loop. It's good to see some progress. it focuses the membership on to better things. Thomas

Yes the signal at Cheddleton is finally in place and the one blocking platform 2 has been removed. The gantry looks great well done to all involved. Now hopefully they can proceed and put in the track back in the platform and who knows some day the loop may go in, just the slip to do then. Thomas

I see that some of the rail has been laid in platform 2 but due to a problem with the points the GUV cannot be moved out so the job has stalled again. There is a ballast wagon loaded in the yard so this is presumedly to ballast the track when the GUV is moved. Well we've waited 2 1/2 years so I suppose a few more weeks or months won't make much difference. Thomas

Thomas, After speeking with "Da management", It has to be emptied of all the "special events" stuff that it is full of before it can go to where ever it is heading.
Not sure if it will be used for the diesel gala though ?

I've had it on good authority that next Wednesday will be The Day it happens. The GUV will be taken out and the OAP way gang will ballast the siding. Lets hope it's true, nearly 3 years to do but it will be nice to see it used .Thomas
