Well here we are again at the end of another year, a year where we have lost some ground on our progress to the premier division of preserved railways. It seems that most of the bigger railways have got big plans for expansion either started or in the offing while we have been drawing in our horns. No progress on our expansion to Leek,Alton forgotten, lost access to Oakamoor to mention a few. Next year it seems to be a reduced timetable, what's happened to the DMU running in July did it make a loss?, this was a thing that we needed to publicise more so that people can turn up any day in the main summer holiday and have a ride. OK it's not steam but if people enjoy the ride they may come again to ride the steam train. If there's nothing running they may feel they have wasted their time and won't bother again. Interest seems to have been lost this year as noticed in the various websites connected to the railway. Anyhow enough moaning let's hope it's a good and prosperous new year for the railway and a Happy New Year to each and everyone of you. Thomas

I couldn't agree more Thomas.
It seems that the public are almost always ready to take the CVR to heart and support it but it seems there is just not enough of it to keep the interest going constantly, therefore they turn to other things and it is hard to win them back again.
The DMU could easily be commissioned to run every day for maybe just two round trips in the summer months surely.
I am not at all experienced in these matters but I would have thought the DMU running regularly would not be too much cost or trouble and a lot less trouble than steaming up.
