Took a round trip down the line yesterday between Cheddleton & Froghall, and was impressed by the clear evidence of recent work.
The Tamper already reported as being hired in by the railway worked the whole line, not just bits as I'd previously thought. A lot of ballasting was evident; Podmores Mill, Leekbrook Tunnel to Cheddleton & Froghall station being three of the most obvious.
Some sort of flailing machine had also been down the line destroying all the small trees & bushes that if left alone will grow out of hand. It may not tackle the big stuff that's there, but you can definitely tell the difference it has made (easier to spot from the DMU of course!).
It was also good to see the 04 that is now back on its wheels again, thanks to the lifting operation this week.
